Illustrator and Graphic Design Stephen Chan invited Broken Antler to contribute to his “Two Colors / Three Dimensions” Exhibit, which opens on Friday 17th May at Odd One Odd in Hong Kong (http://www.oddoneout.hk/)
Naturally we had to get involved, so we created two Idents, in which we played about with all things 2D and 3D - real and digitally. We had a lot of fun with this, including creating the sound design.

Momoco are probably one of my favourite title designers and this is Nic Benn’s award winning short film ‘The Shell’. A visual feast of a film - but you’d expect nothing less. Starring Vincent Regan, Ralph Brown, Anna Walton, John Standing and the voice of Olivia Williams.

If you don’t know - Buck TV have got to be my favourite animation studio. The quality of the work they create is just, well… I aspire to make stuff like them… And one day godamnnit I will!
Over the past few months/ years I’ve been asked to create infographics for various clients and I’ve always wanted to create something as intricate and as beautiful as this but a) never have the time or b) the client gets nervous and the infographics become a little more staid… Maybe one day - till then I’ll look on examples like this from ‘We Are 17’ and be inspired and jealous…

RUN BOY RUN - the absolutely stunning epic follow up music video to Woodkid aka Yoann Lemonie’s ‘Iron’ who happens to also be an amazing visual director.
Inspiration of the day The stop motion masters Aardman have gone and done it again and this time they’ve broken the record for largest stop-motion animation shot for this Nokia N8 commercial. Shot on location on Pendine Beach in Wales and directed by Sumo Science, the every frame was shot on the new Nokia N8, which just goes to show you how far t technology has gone. My first attempt at animation was using plasterine (inspired by Aardman) and a old camcorder which allowed me to capture 8 frames a second. I had to edit in camera and it was pretty ropey stuff. Nowadays technology has moved on so impressively that phones are being used to make high quality films. Enjoi
Inspiration of the day
Two reasons this has become inspiration for today. One: is that I broke my tumblr page and it seemed fitting since I didn’t touch ANYTHING! Two: I have started reading again since Laila was born “The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet’s Nest’ and not to give the game away but she’s a hacker… Lots of people have done brilliant info graphic films and this is no exception. I’m a real fan of these type of films as great inspiration for coming up with an exciting way to tell what would otherwise be a very staid film.
Inspiration of the day
I like making music videos and I’d like to make more but the budgets are always so low it’s hard to create the idea and (I’m not at that calibre where I could) make a living from making them. What’s so inviting about music video’s is the creative freedom you get. The idea with a music videos is to entertain and wow an audience. With brand films, commercials and corporate films they’re all are trying to deliver a message and the message is more important than the overall look of the film. A music video can just look cool for looking cool sake and this music video by one of my hero’s Yohann Lemoine is just amazing…
